TikTok Remains In Pakistan After Court Revokes Ban Over Content

Despite the Sindh High Court ordered a nationwide ban on TikTok, the ban was slammed by the platform due to the immense fan base in Pakistan. More importantly, many businesses utilize the platform to market and sell goods online.

This makes the third time that the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) had to ban the application due to ‘immoral content’ and bring the platform back again. However, a large portion of the nation mostly the conservative side says that the platform promotes vulgarity and LGBTQ content.

Moreover, the platform had recently removed over six million videos of immoral content coming from the Pakistan side which led to the concept of the authorities banning the app which was then revoked on Friday. This has become sort of an everyday thing now which has no permanent decision in regards to the longevity of the platform. Even Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry stated the following in a recent tweet:
“I am baffled after reading… verdict on suspension of TikTok.”
