KP government join hands with Careem to provide services to public

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has announced a venture with Careem to provide Rescue 1122 Fire Brigade & Ambulances services to the citizens of the province.

The service is available only in Peshawar on trial bases, people can access the service through Careem application. Both partners have announced that the service will be expended to other cities soon.

Initially, the service is targeting 50,000 citizens in the selected areas of the provincial capital. The news is announced through a newspaper advertisement and from the official twitter handle of the PTI.

The MoU was signed last month between the government and Careem at the CM Secretariat in Peshawar and was attended by senior officials from KP Government including Mahmood Khan, Chief Minister, Kamran Khan Bangash, Special Assistant to CM on Information Technology (IT), Parwaiz Khan, DG Provincial Disaster Management Authority, Khateer Ahmad, DG KP Emergency Services (1122), Mudassir Sheikha, Co-Founder and CEO of Careem Pakistan, as well as other government officials and leadership from Careem Pakistan.

According to the MOU, all existing Rescue 1122 ambulance will be on-boarded on the Careem platform through a separate Emergency Services Customer Car Type (CCT). All ambulance and fire brigade captains will be trained by Careem on how to use the Careem Application.

The newspaper advertisement tells that the service is available in Hayatabad, Haji Camp, Faqeerabad, Warsak Road, Saddar Cantt, Hashtnagri, Kohat Road, Tehkal Bala, University Road, Warsak Road, University Town, and their nearby areas.

The government has announced to take strict action on the false calls, legal action or fine will be imposed for such activity.
