Comsats University Islamabad (CUI) has launched a project on artificial intelligence worth Rs. 1 billion with an aim to introduce and provide the students with the best and modern higher education.
To further this project a consortium has been established which include six information and technology universities of Pakistan. Those universities include Comsats University Islamabad, National University of Science and Technology (NUST), University of Engineering Technology (UET) Lahore, University of Engineering Technology (UET) Peshawar, NED University of Engineering and Technology Karachi, and Punjab University, according to local media reports.
Sources told APP that the aim of establishing a consortium was to complete the Information Technology sector of the developed countries. Initially, under the project, nine modern laboratories would be established in four cities including Islamabad, Lahore, Peshawar, and Karachi through artificial intelligence technology.
Through these laboratories, the students would be provided with an opportunity to study subjects related to artificial intelligence, robotics, cybersecurity, e-gaming, big data, and speed coding.

Artificial intelligence is getting trendy all over the world and Pakistan should focus its efforts on developing institutions that can train students in related fields of artificial intelligence. This project from Comsats should receive government backing for it to become a success in the country. Moreover, the government should also provide support in this project so that it can be initiated in every major city of Pakistan.
