Govt is launching funds program for tech projects, says Fawad Ch

Minister for Science and Technology Fawad Chaudhary has said that the government is initiating a program to provide funds for science and technology projects in Pakistan.

The minister while talking to the media said that upcoming Pakistan’s first science fair in August 2019, will provide people an opportunity and a platform to display their innovations at a state level.

Fawad Ch last week announced that August will be the month of Science and Technology in Pakistan. He also said that an international science conference will also be arranged on August 31, this year, where scientists of reputed international institutes will be invited to participate. The minister revealed in a Tweet that the entries for the sci-tech fair will be open from July 1.

The minister while addressing the media said that the previous governments left the country’s economy in a dire situation, and said that the current PTI government will improve the governance system in Pakistan and make the economy strong by placing it on a firm stand.

He also said that the government has created a task force to explore the means for future needs in Pakistan’s agriculture and education sector, industries and provision of clean drinking water to the people.

Fawad Ch recently stepped into the moon-sighting issue in Pakistan a week ago, when the Ruet-e-Hilal Committee was beginning its session to sight the moon for the month of Ramadan. He said that Pakistan should make use of the latest technology to sight moons for important events like Eid, Ramadan, and Muharram in the country and that this will put an end to all the moon-sighting controversies that arise every year.

The minister later formed a five-member committee and tasked them to finalize and indicate the exact dates of Ramadan, Eid, and Muharram for the next five years in the country.
