Twitter has announced on Monday, that users can now add images videos and reaction GIFs to their quoted tweets. The micro-blogging website is launching this new feature across Android, iOS and Twitter‘s mobile website.
Twitter explains, “Now, the same photos, videos, and GIFs that you add to a Tweet can be added to a Retweet, making it easier to share what’s on your mind and join the conversation when you can’t find the right words”.
By tapping the retweet with comment option, you can choose, video or a GIF icon in the toolbar. It is the feature which many Twitter users were waiting for, but Twitter says that adding this feature in the platform was a difficult task, because people find it challenging to quickly grab all the content in a retweet with attached media.
To solve this problem the website now puts the original tweet in a smaller sized box (with users profile avatar still visible), and it makes the retweeted media full width. Twitter says that various brands and creators are already using this new feature on day one of its launch.
This new change which surely clutters everyone’s timeline with tons of garbage tweets is not available on the desktop version of the website yet. An probably this is the reason that the users on the desktop are witnessing a bunch of poorly formatted tweets. But we will probably receive an update for the desktop version soon enough which will resolve the clutter issue.
