This appears to be the biggest shipping mess we have ever heard.
A Google Pixel 3 customer who posted on Reddit by the name of “Cheetohz”, claims that he only wanted a refund on his defective phone, but instead of cash, Google reportedly sent him 10 more handsets.
Google Pixel 3 is undoubtedly one of the best phones you can get right now, but what if there’s a defect in your device? Well, if you were this customer, Google would have accidentally sent ten extra replacements to you as well instead of a refund.

So, what happened here? This customer asked for a refund of his non-Pink Pixel 3 and received the device replacement, along with nine extra phones in Pink color. The user says that he has tried reaching out to Google support to get his original refund and to return the extra devices, but has not received any response until now.
Cheetohz is planning to sell the phones as a last resort if the shipment is rejected. As he told Android Police,
“Well, I want to do the right thing and return them. But I’m not willing to do so until my refund is processed properly. If I don’t get the proper support here, I’m going to attempt to return the extra 9 phones via $1000 COD [cash on delivery – ed],”
Interestingly, it’s worth mentioning here that the U.S. consumers have the legal authority to keep products they didn’t order, as per the document of FTC. Therefore, the user doesn’t actually need to put his efforts to return the phones in the first place.
However, an official Google account has also posted in the thread, and has promised to look into the issue. So hopefully the strange problem of Cheetohz will be resolved soon.
