A collaboration such as this holds the key for Pakistan’s digital economy, however, an ecosystem must also be set-up by the government which can nurture and develop the technical skill-set of Pakistan’s youth. Earlier, we explored the potential of Digital economy which can add up to $50 billion to Pakistan’s economy. Lars Anthonisen, Head of Large Customer Marketing, South Asia Google wrote that Pakistan is emerging as a key digital-first country with the fifth largest population with an increasing number of entrepreneurs.
If the government can prioritize transformation of the digital landscape by encouraging and supporting such collaborations with multi-national companies and, subsequently, develops an entrepreneurial-friendly ecosystem according to the recommendations which have been put forward by OCCI, then Pakistan can witness a definitive upward trend in its digital economy, which will ultimately help the country’s economy.
