Last November, Habib University signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Stanford University for its prestigious Summer International Honors Program (SSIHP). The agreement aimed at providing a life changing learning opportunity for Habib University students by giving them access to gain the educational experience at Stanford University.
With this partnership in place, 8 students from Habib University departed on 17th June 2016 to participate in SSIHP. The Summer Program hosts academic prodigies from across the world and enable participants to connect with international young intellects. The program is spanned over 8 weeks with 250 courses to choose from in Engineering, Humanities & Sciences, and Earth Sciences.
SSIHP engages students in dialogue and conversations to promote scientific and social collaborations. The program aims at nurturing diversity. With this objective, this year SSIHP is hosting over 100 students from 20 universities in 14 diverse countries. Pakistan is being represented for the first time ever by the students of Habib University.
The students of Habib University were selected after a rigorous selected process to represent not only Habib University at a global forum but to also act as cultural ambassadors of Pakistan.
