Karachi, September 24, 2019: 10Pearls celebrated the progress of AI in Pakistan through its initiative AI Summit 2019. The summit was held at ITCN Asia (Expo Center), Karachi and was well-attended by leading tech enterprises, start-ups and students.
10Pearls, a leading end-to-end digital services company, has always been at the forefront of cutting-edge technologies globally and in Pakistan. In line with its mission to embrace and promote emerging and disruptive technologies, 10Pearls launched AI Summit 2019, a pioneering conference + expo to facilitate the growth of Artificial Intelligence in Pakistan. The Summit was held on September 17, 2019 at ITCN Asia, in partnership with PASHA, Karachi.AI, Pakistan.AI and WomenInTechPK.
The summit featured engaging speaker sessions, panel discussions, interactive workshops, research presentations and most significantly, expo of the best contributions made by Pakistani innovators in the field of AI. The event also provided a platform for all AI enthusiasts to come together, network with like-minded individuals and companies and give exposure to AI products created by Pakistanis.

The keynote was conducted by Ghazanfar Ghori, CTO, 10Pearls who shed light on the future of how AI can help the digital transformation of different business sectors in Pakistan. Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Ghazanfar Ghori said, “AI will have the greatest impact when everyone can access its benefits. AI development and application will serves as a positive force for the future of Pakistan in sectors such as healthcare, agriculture and tech businesses.”
Other speakers at the summit included Keshan Sodimana – Co-Founder, OpenData, Michael Bugaj – Senior Data Scientist, Kloud9, Dr. Sara Saeed – Founder & CEO at Sehat Kahani, Omer Salimullah – Head of Open Banking & Ecosystem development, JS Bank, Shahzeb Mirza – Head of Data Science at Daraz, Dr. Muhammad Khurram – Associate Professor NED & Co-Founder Aqua Agro, Dr. Zia Babar – Researcher at University of Toronto and Dr. Babar Hasan – Chief of Pediatric Services at AKUH. The speakers focused on issues such as AI revolutionizing Healthcare, Agribusiness, Fintech etc., and also the need to democratize AI and make it more accessible to non-Machine Learning experts.

In addition to speaker sessions, research presentations and panel discussions, AI Summit 2019 also hosted hands-on workshops which covered deploying prediction model on Watson Studio, Kaggle & Exploratory Data Analysis, DialogFlow, Data Science using python and Machine learning for Computer Vision.
The concluding note was presented by Dr. Faisal Kamiran – Co-founder & President ADDO AI, Dean & Chairperson of the Department of Computer Science at the Information Technology University of Punjab.
